The LAST Letter! :(

Hello Everybody!

Well even though I still don't believe it, the time has just about come. I can't believe that the mission ends and I will be home in 5 days. It seems unreal and I feel like it still hasn't hitten me yet. I am SO excited to come home and see the family but am sad to leave this all behind. It really has been the best 2 years.

This week was really good! Unfortunately Martha's baptism fell through because they had probelms with some of their documents and we had to postpone their marriage. But we had lots of lessons, new investigators, and baptismal dates which was awesome. This week if all goes well on Tuesday we should have Ana's and Jose Luis wedding and Ana's baptism, and on Thursday, our last day of work we should have Martha and Mario's wedding and Martha's baptism. We are hoping to finish strong. :)

Our last Sunday was good, our ward is sad we are leaving. Tomorrow they are dedicating our ward activity to our goodbye, and we will probably combine it with Ana's baptism. We had 8 investigators in church on Sunday which was great as well.

So we only have 3 work days left then on Friday we go to Aragon and then we all go to a really cool museum in Chapultepec (one of the few nice parts of Mexico City), we will have our interviews with president, our farewell dinner by Sister Anaya, testimony meeting, then early Saturday they will take us to the airport. So it is surely going to be an eventful week, we are excited. :)

This mission has done SO much for me. It is hard to describe how I feel about it but my feeling about it are mainly happiness, love, and gratitude. My testimony has grown so much here and I now have the confidence in the Lord that I'm sure I will need to live the rest of my life. It is definitely bittersweet to finish the misson but I know that bigger and more important things are still to come.

Thanks for all your support, emails, letters, love, and prayers over the last 2 years. That is what has gotten me through at times. I am SO grateful that I have you all as my family and friends, I couldn't ask for more.

Well I love you all SO much and I hope to see you all Saturday at 2:26 in the airport!

With all my love,

Elder Elgan

Wrapping it all Up

Hola Everyone!

Well this week just flew by, and it was pretty good! There is just not too much time left as this is my last full week in the mission. ;( We continue to finish strong as we had Frida's baptism on Sunday! So that was awesome, her whole family went and that way we also picked up some new investigators :)

We are working hard with all our investigators and especially those who can be baptized before we leave. This Wednesday we have the wedding of Jose Luis and Ana so that Ana can get baptized either this week or the next and in a little bit we are gonna confirm the wedding of Martha and Mario for this week because Martha has her bap. date this Sunday. So hopefully all goes well there.

We had interviews with President Anaya this week and he renewed my temple recommend which was good, its only good through November though. haha. He told us to finish strong and to leave a good area and since both of us are leaving and 2 new missionaries are going to have to open the area. So we are working hard to be able to do that.

Today we went to the rest of Elder Rodriguez's old areas so that he could say goodbye to everybody. Yesterday we took all of Frida's family to the visitors center and we also watched Meet the Mormons but because of some technical difficulties we couldn't see the last part which made me so mad because the last part is the best, but oh well they all liked it a lot.

Everything sounds good at home, love you all, keep safe and I will only write home 1 more time! Crazy. So I hope to hear from you all next week and I will be seeing you all in 12 days!

Hola :D

Hello Hello!

Well another crazy week has come and gone and it is just so crazy to think that I only have 2 more full weeks left here in the mission. It's bittersweet I guess, but I'm excited! This week we had Joselyn and Alejandras baptisms which was awesome tons of their family came and one of their uncles baptized them. The service was really good and we were all very happy afterwards. :)

Today I went back to say goodbye to all my converts and some members in Victoria and Industrial. It was so awesome to see strong converts with callings, preparing themselves to go to the temple, and other family members converted in their own homes. The fruits of this grand work are many, and I realized that seeing the fruits that came from my own fruits time ago. Awesome.

On Sunday we took Katya and her parents (Martha and Mario) to the visitors center. We are helping them get married this week and then we should have Martha's baptism in 2 weeks. We also have a couple other investigators that should be baptized in the next couple weeks before we go home, so we are excited for that!

If we work with faith everyday, everyday we will see miracles. I'm sure of that and we have seen many lately. I know that God loves us and is watching over us everyday, sometimes he tests us but if we are patient and are willing to obey, he will bless us SO much. I'm really going to try and make the best of these next 2 1/2 weeks so that I can come home with no regrets.

So glad that everything is going great at home, wherever home may be for lots of you this summer. Love you tons and have a great week!

Happy July!

Dearest Everybody,

This week was awesome! Can't believe how fast the time is going by and it makes me sad because the mission just keeps getting better and better. The church services on Sunday were just about as good as it gets. It was our last fast and testimony meeting in the mission and that was crazy. We both shared our testimonies and it was very spiritual and awesome to feel and share the testimony that I have received during my mission. Many members told us that we radiated the spirit in our testimonies and that feels great because as a missionary that means you're doing things right. So that was awesome. Even the bishop told us that hopefully he will have another companionship like us after we leave in a few weeks. That made us happy knowing that we are being the companionship that since the beginning of our missions we have wanted to be.

But the BEST part of Sunday was Katya's baptism. She was super nervous but everything went great. The service was super spiritual. Our ward mission leader asked both of us to share a mission experience during the service and neither one of us could keep back  the tears. Katyas testimony was awesome as well saying that she felt something so special after being baptized. But the BEST part of Katyas baptism was her mom. Her mom Martha is also our investigator and has been so difficult. She is a lawyer and has tons of knowledge about the Bible and the religions. She always has SO many questions and wants to see the evidence of everything we say and is not at all easy to convince. She was studied and read a ton and has been praying to receive an answer if this is true but hadn't received anything. . until the baptism. After the baptism she came up to us crying that for so long she has been searching for the answer and when she saw her daughter get baptized, she received it. Ahh it was such a powerful moment when she said that. She even told us Thanks for bring the truth to my family. It was awesome.

Everything else is going great here in our area. This week we will have Joselyn and Alejandras baptism which will be great, we are excited. We are still hoping to reach our goal of baptizing every week of our last transfer and things are looking good so keep praying for us. . we need it :)

This week we did divisions with our Zls and another companionship in our district and this week will be our last few divisions of the mission which is sad :( Today we had a zone activity. We played ping pong (I was the champ of course), a very Mexican version of baseball and a blindfolded companionship churro eating contest. Elder Rodriguez and I won of course but Elder R threw up afterwards. . haha.

So ya that's about it! Everything sounds great at home, hope y'all had a great 4 of July mine was rainy as it has been EVERY day this week. Well love you all and I'll hear from you next week!

The Juicy Fruits of this Marvelous Work

Hola Family!

Well well we had a pretty good, fast week here. Elder Rodriguez and I finally had our first baptisms together which was great. We were very happy about that (see pics ha). We baptized Ericka and Emily They are girls with inactive parents but they love coming to church and they are gonna be some great future missionaries.:) This ward is pretty crappy about organizing baptismal services but everything turned out ok. Elder R and I sang a special musical number (with solos and everything) and both of us were kinda forgetting the words so that was kinda embarassing. haha But I guess we deserved it for having prepared it an hour before.

After church we went to the visitors center with Joselyn and Alejandra and their grandparents. (pic) It was really awesome and they are gonna be baptized on the 11. I really love Mexico city's visitors center especially the part about the familiy. What a blessing it is to have the knowledge of Gods plan in our lives. Our problem filled families and lives can be perfected thanks to this plan and the temples.

Everything is going pretty good with the rest of our investigators. This week we are going to baptize Katya so hopefully all goes well. She is awesome but her mom who is also an investigator wants us to be there for hours and gets so mad when we say we can only stay for an hour because we have appointments. Hopefully she will get baptized before we go home as well.

The weather has been all right, lots of heat and lots of rain. We are still work hard and hoping to reach our goal of baptizing every week of this our last transfer. Its looking good and we are loving and enjoying the mission. I don't want it to end, but it must so we are just trying to enjoy these last few weeks :)

Well love you all, hope all is well. Mom and girls looks like fun in DC keep it up :) Hope to hear from y'all next week!
