The Juicy Fruits of this Marvelous Work

Hola Family!

Well well we had a pretty good, fast week here. Elder Rodriguez and I finally had our first baptisms together which was great. We were very happy about that (see pics ha). We baptized Ericka and Emily They are girls with inactive parents but they love coming to church and they are gonna be some great future missionaries.:) This ward is pretty crappy about organizing baptismal services but everything turned out ok. Elder R and I sang a special musical number (with solos and everything) and both of us were kinda forgetting the words so that was kinda embarassing. haha But I guess we deserved it for having prepared it an hour before.

After church we went to the visitors center with Joselyn and Alejandra and their grandparents. (pic) It was really awesome and they are gonna be baptized on the 11. I really love Mexico city's visitors center especially the part about the familiy. What a blessing it is to have the knowledge of Gods plan in our lives. Our problem filled families and lives can be perfected thanks to this plan and the temples.

Everything is going pretty good with the rest of our investigators. This week we are going to baptize Katya so hopefully all goes well. She is awesome but her mom who is also an investigator wants us to be there for hours and gets so mad when we say we can only stay for an hour because we have appointments. Hopefully she will get baptized before we go home as well.

The weather has been all right, lots of heat and lots of rain. We are still work hard and hoping to reach our goal of baptizing every week of this our last transfer. Its looking good and we are loving and enjoying the mission. I don't want it to end, but it must so we are just trying to enjoy these last few weeks :)

Well love you all, hope all is well. Mom and girls looks like fun in DC keep it up :) Hope to hear from y'all next week!

The Last Stretch

Hello Again!

Well it has been a pretty good week! (and a half) Yesterday were transfers and me and Elder Rodriguez are officially gonna finish our missions together here in Americas. Crazy! Yes we both go home on August 1. We are really happy about that and are ready for one last cycle. Our first cycle together even though we enjoyed it and it was the fastest cycle yet it was pretty difficult. We had lots of difficulties and tests with our investigators but we have lots of hope for this cycle. We both really wanna finish our missions working, baptizing, and just loving this great work. That's the goal.

We have lots of good investigators and lots of baptismal dates coming up that we are excited for. We lost our investigator Sara (from Cali) for the crappy example of members in our ward. Ahh I was so mad. Sometimes I get frustrated with this ward because the members sometimes drive the gators away instead of receiving them and putting the example like they should. But oh well so like always there were some ups and downs. This week and the next few we are preparing Ericka, Emily, Katya, Joselyn and Alejandra for their baptisms so we are excited for that.

Today we went back and visited Martin Carrera and Hidalgo to say goodbye to the converts and members of both of our first areas. That's when Elder Rodriguez and I met each other when we were in those areas. The time is short and we are starting to visit all the old areas to say goodbye. It was crazy being back in Carrera, how fast the time has gone by. I visited a few converts, investigators,  and the Elda's of course. I guess that's the good thing about having such a small mission we get to go back and visit all the areas on pday before going home :)

Everything sounds good at home. Busy as always which is good. Have fun Mom in DC with Britt and the girls, sounds fun. Kayla, I'm jealous I want to run Ragnar so bad :( haha Brandi and Brandon the house looks nice and I'm glad your getting settled in. I'm sure gonna have to get use to lots of changes when I get home in 5 weeks! A lot happens in 2 years. .

Dad happy late fathers day! Hope you had a great one. You´ve sure done a great job as a dad, Look at all your beautiful children! :) haha

Well I love you all and hope you have a great week and I will hear from you all again on Monday!

Another Week Gone

Hola Again!

Well it was another crazy good/fast week here in sunny Mexico. The work has been hard but we have had some really good moments that just make it all worth it. I am kind of frustrated with the fact that in these past 4 weeks our baptisms have fallen through 2 days before Sunday with lots of different investigators. ahh Why must it happen? I have no idea but I feel like our last cycle we are going to see the fruits and we are gonna finish the mission happy and with lots of success. :) This is the last week of the transfer and then there is only one more cycle and its all over. Can't believe it. So next week I will write on Wednesday with all the changes with transfers and what not.

We are teaching an investigator, Fanny, who we found through her less active husband. They are awesome and are so willing to accept and live the gospel. They went to church and in the afternoon we took them to the visitors center. We took them through the tour of the families/temples and then watched meet the Mormons. It was so awesome! They loved it and so did I. They have to get married first but we are excited about her baptism in the coming weeks. Joselyn and Alejandras baptisms have been postponed until July because their uncle that is gonna baptize them can't come until then. . oh well. We have lots of great investigators and lots went to church so we are excited to keep working with them and and enjoy this last transfer with loads of success. :D

This week we helped a less active member paint his Burger joint. (See pics) We started teaching his wife as well who isn't a member. I love doing service cuz it reminds me of doing projects at home. The paint is awful his color choice hideous but oh well it was a good time. haha.

This ward has been pretty difficult, there are not many faithful members here. haha We have had problems with our investigators for crappy members examples but oh well we are trying, and finally have a somewhat effective ward council going.

Everything sounds crazy at home like usual. That's sad that Brandi and Brandon are moving so far away. . I want to see pics of the new house! Washington D.C sounds like a fun place for the Powell's this summer sounds like your getting all settled in. Josh I know how you feel in Oklahoma walking all day in the hot sun. . so much fun. haha Dad don't have too much fun this week on your luxurious work vacation in England. :)

Crazy I got my itinerary! It seems so close now. I get in at a good time, around 3:00 so that ll be awesome.

Well I love you all, and have a super great week!

Hola :D

Hola Familia!

Well every week just goes by faster and faster and this week was pretty great! The Lord keeps on testing us and our patience with some of our investigators but we keep on pressing forward and we are loving the mission! We are working a ton, and walking even more. This week we taught 56 lessons and we had lots of investigators in church so that was awesome. We found some promising new investigators so we have high hopes for them.

Yesterday was a good day with lots of new investigators in church and we also went to the visitors center. At the last second our investigators that were gonna go the the vc cancelled so we were running around trying to get people to go because we had planned the whole afternoon for that since its so far away now so we found our recent convert Jose and took him and it was awesome, he is such an awesome guy, he is so converted and wants his family to join the church so bad so we are working on that. :)

This week honestly went by so fast I don't even know what more to say um one day we had divisions and I went with a crazy Dominican in my district so that was fun. Before I looked forward to divisions but now that me and Elder Rodriguez are together we don't ever want to do divisions. haha

Today we went to Buenavista and went ice skating! We ran into Elder Bocanegra and Elder Lopez (both of which have been my comps and are now comps) and were with them for a while which was pretty fun. I thought I was bad at skating but being around a bunch of Mexicans and Latins made me feel better. The only ice they´ve ever seen is in their margaritas so that's kinda a new concept for them. haha Utah pride I guess.

Well everything sounds great at home, Mom, good job on the bike race! I'm proud. Summertime looks like lots of fun, I miss it but times flying and I only write home 7 more times and I'll be there enjoying with y'all! Its bittersweet I guess, but for now everythings going great here, love you all, be safe, and have a great week!

Happy June!

Hola!

Well this week sure flew by, they all do now. This week had lots of ups and downs but overall it was pretty good. We are working hard and seeing lots of fruits but we still need to work even harder. This week we managed to teach 60 lessons which was awesome but Daniels baptism fell through which was a bummer. But oh well nothing we can do about it, this week we are going to work hard and hopefully have Joselyn, Alejandra, and Daniel's baptisms on Sunday. Hope all goes well.

It always makes me happy to see and feel that the Lord is guiding our steps and directing us in the direction that we need to go. We have been able to feel that here in this week and we have been able to find and teach lots of the right people in just the right moments. I really want to love this last part of the mission and that is one of the biggest goals we have and even though enduring to the end might be one of the hardest principles of the Gospel, we continue trying to do our best and have no regrets. :)

Elder Rodriguez and I are learning how to work in a team and as a united companionship better considering the fact that neither one of us have ever had to give in to our companions ways. We are both strong willed and sometimes we have different wills but oh well we are good friends and are loving being together and this experience will be good for us!

Everything sounds busy at home, everyone still keeps moving out for summer like usual which is no fun haha. Josh and Kayla's trip to England/France looked awesome. Good work on the stake conference talk Mom, I'm proud :) haha well I guess this is it! 2 months from today I will be home!

Love you all and have a super fantastic week!
